This $19 million facility expansion project supports TriMet’s expanded light rail operations for the new Orange Line service from Portland to Milwaukie. This contract is the second of two significant expansions we have performed at the facility since it was built.
The project included site preparation, grading and drainage, utility relocation, expansion of the existing shop building, a new wash building, trackwork, signals, and OCS. Other work included renovations to the existing building systems, equipment installation, parking lots, roadway improvements, and landscaping.
The new shop expansion was constructed directly adjacent to the existing operating light rail maintenance facility, which required coordination with TriMet’s operations and maintenance staff to avoid impact on ongoing activities.
Modifications to the vehicle storage yard involved detailed work plans to coordinate track and OCS outages to prevent interruption to the 24/7 operations of the existing facility.

"Stacy Witbeck was very cooperative and meticulous in building the new maintenance facility, without disrupting our ability to provide service for our customer. We appreciate their efforts that allowed us to continue our day-to-day tasks while they performed construction surgery right alongside of us."
