This was a design-build project for a new 1.6-mile streetcar system connecting downtown Dallas to the Oak Cliff neighborhood. The work included crossing the 4,700-ft., 101-year-old historic Houston Viaduct bridge structure with a new track, installation of train and traffic signals, four stops, one traction power substation, underground utilities, bridge restoration, and third-party utility coordination.
This was the first project in the United States to use wireless traction power using an onboard stored energy system.
