FrontRunner 2X

Stacy Witbeck is in the Preconstruction phase of FrontRunner 2X, a Progressive Design Build (PDB) project providing double tracing on the 89-mile-long commuter rail line from Ogden to Provo, Utah. This involves 21.5 miles of new double track segments adjacent to the existing system.  

Stacy Witbeck played an integral role in the original construction of the FrontRunner alignment completing FrontRunner North in 2008, and FrontRunner South in 2012. Multiple On-Call contracts with UTA have also performed maintenance tasks along the alignment. 

The scope is to implement 8 double track segments, and 1 track realignment segment. The construction includes large earthwork, MSE walls, drainage utilities, third-party utility relocations, structures, at grade crossings, system installation, and track construction.  

FrontRunner 2X will increase the frequency of service, reducing wait times for passengers, as well as enhancing reliability through improved on-time performance for better connectivity to regional bus and light rail systems.
