This was a $10 million task-order-based CM/GC contract to perform rail and crossing rehabilitation at multiple locations on TriMet’s passenger rail system. The term of the contract was five years; we are currently working on the follow-on five-year contract - the Steel Bridge Transit Improvements and Track Rehabilitation project.
Construction services included replacing or rehabilitating turnouts, crossing diamonds, road crossing panels, crossovers, curved track segments, commuter rail track reline and resurface, and constructing a new test track at the existing light rail maintenance yard. Most rehabilitation tasks involved scope that directly affected the running rail and systems.
Work was performed under revenue service when possible, during non-revenue service hours, or during coordinated shutdown windows of light rail service.
