About the Project

This $73 million bid-build contract included furnishing, installing, and testing more than eight miles of direct fixation trackwork and related elements for two parallel tunnels and an elevated guideway. This included fabricating and installing over 7,000 feet of non-magnetic heavy-weight floating track slabs with ultra-straight rail to mitigate vibration impacts to the University of Washington’s science labs above.

This project marks the first project in the US to make thermite and flash butt welds to European high-speed rail standards.
